The Portuguese Minority in Luxembourg

The Grand Duchy of Luxembourg is one of Europe's smallest countries, with less than half a million inhabitants.

Nestled between Belgium, France and Germany, Luxembourg is renowned for its natural beauty, high standard of living, and being a key player in the European Union. It's one of the most multinational countries in Europe, and over 30% of the population are foreign. The largest non-Luxembourgish community are the Portuguese. They began coming to Luxembourg in the 60s, escaping poverty and a dictatorial regime, in search of a better life. And, they are a community who have managed to both become integrated into their new home, and maintain a strong sense of their own culture.
